What's not to love about cakes? We all share them at every celebration; birthdays, weddings, Christmas, Easter, anniversaries, graduations... even Valentines. I love cakes especially handmade cakes, so luckily for me the lovely people at Sponge Cakes Ltd reached out to me to kindly send me one of their handmade sponge cakes to try, how could I say no?
Sponge.co.uk are an online cake company specialising in handmade cakes, but deliver all over the UK. According to what's written on the packaging, their cakes are made with only the best quality ingredients, proudly British, only local free-range eggs, natural oils and flavours and lovingly handmade in small batches.

I really like that they have a wide variety of sponge cakes to choose from like Cake Cards, Sharing Sponges, Free From Cakes, Baby Sponges, Gift Boxes and you can create your own cake.
You should check out their Valentine Baby Gift Box. It comes with a choice of four drinks and four baby sponges - two Chocolate and Strawberry and two Red Velvet, or gluten free option contains two GF Chocolate and Strawberry and two GF Chocolate. OUR CHOCOLATE AND STRAWBERRY CAKE
The cake arrived in a sturdy box, well packaged and sealed in an air tight wrap. It came in perfect condition, no smudges or cracks. We got sent the Chocolate and Strawberry cake drizzled with melted chocolate on top. It had allergy information written on the back of the box and we received a cute little card as well.
The cake tasted delicious to my pleasant surprise. For some reason, I was expecting the cake to taste like a supermarket bought cake, but it was nothing like that. Our one tasted lovingly handmade which left me so impressed. The sponge was light and fluffy especially when it was left in an air tight container like a cake storage dome.
