We were kindly sent two toys to review. A "Count with Peppa" toy and a Thomas and friends "Learn with Thomas Alphaphonics" toy. This post is about the Learn with Thomas Alphaphonics toy. To read my Count with Peppa toy review, please click here.
The kids were very delighted to receive their toys. Kobi quickly grabbed his Thomas and Friends toy immediately he saw it in the box. He pretty much was attracted to it's blue packaging. The toy box had some plastic locks to secure the toy in its box. We carefully unlocked the locks and popped the toy out of it's box. It also had a pull note which we had to pull out so as to make the toy start working.
The toy was very easy to use. All we needed to do was to press the buttons at anytime to hear the alphabet and phonetic sound or to hear some music. There was also a repeat button on the toy when we needed to hear a question or sound repeated.
The toy is fun, interactive, engaging and educative. It is suitable for kids aged 3 and above. Kobi is starting to be more aware of the alphabets and he loves to learn about them everyday. We have our moments of reciting the alphabets, so this toy just makes it a lot easier and fun for us.
There are some fun activities on the toy like pressing a letter button to hear a sound or its name, finding a character or object (for this you get 3 chances to guess the right one), find the first letter of a word or phonetic letter, copy a sequence of funny sounds and listen to music. One cool thing I love about this toy is that the toy switches off automatically when not in use after about 2 minutes. To re-activate it, simply select a game and it comes on again. This is very handy in order to preserve the battery life of the toy. After all, more battery life = more fun games.
Overall, this toy is a fun way for toddlers to learn the alphabets and phonics. My kids absolutely love playing with their new toys, they wouldn't drop it for a second. I'm very happy with the products and i'm sure it will make a good christmas gift for a special little one.
